Newly elected ARISF Council meets with IOC President

April 06, 2017

The ARISF Council held a very fruitful and productive joint meeting with the IOC President Thomas Bach, the IOC Vice Presidents Zaiging Yu and Ugur Erdener, IOC Chief of Staff Marcus Haussen and the IOC Sports Director, Kit McConnell during the SportAccord Convention in Aarhus, Denmark.
President Bach congratulated the ARISF President Raffaele Chiulli for his re-election and the elected members of the ARISF council.

Distinct emphasise was given to discussions related to the ways to enhance the cooperation between the two organisations and the way to move forward to improve the service of the ARISF to its members in the field of anti-doping work, good governance and integrity questions. The ARISF strongly supports the IOC Executive board declaration of the 12 principles for a more robust and independent global Anti-Doping System to protect clean athletes.

Mr. Bach also congratulated the ARISF for being the first International sports organization to have followed the IOC recommendation of a gender equal organisation.
The IOC is very happy with the active collaboration with ARISF and looks forward to continue the coordination, cooperation and communication in a friendly and constructive manner.
