22 September 2004 - Ron Froehlich's Message Regarding This Announcement

Dear Members:

May I offer my sincere congratulations on being selected for the process of determining whether or not you would qualify and be included in the next program in 2012.

I would like to mention that, although you may have been approved by the IOC Executive Board this does not mean that you will be in the 2012 Games. But you could be considered if there should be a change in the existing program and the possibility of one or more sports being removed from the program.

I bring this to your attention because we have to be very diligent in the work that you are doing to answer the questionnaire, which you will receive from the offices of Mr. Kelly Fairweather and Mr. Gilbert Felli. I would also suggest that you concentrate on getting the questionnaire answered correctly and your promotion of your sport to IOC/NOC members should not be the top priority.

The ongoing process that took place in Athens will continue after each Olympic Games and so we may see a change in 2012, 2016 and going forward.

May I suggest that if you have any questions that you direct them to Mr. Kelly Fairweather who I am sure will be able to assist you with any questions that you may have.
