Diverse But United
Our 32 International Sports Federation Members (IFs) have well over one thousand national governing bodies affiliated to them. These in turn represent tens of thousands of clubs and millions of athletes around the world. The top athletes in our sports are passionately followed by millions of spectators - at the venues, on TV and online.
We may seem like a diverse group of sports but we are tremendously united. We share an immense passion for sport and an overriding aim of spreading participation in and enthusiasm for our sports to even more people in more countries. As long-established IFs, we all have our unique ways of growing our games and our distinct geographic and demographic priorities, but over time it has become clear that everyone benefits from working together. It is this collective attitude that inspires the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to include our Members as an integral part of the Olympic Movement.
Our partnership with the IOC needs to be harnessed at the national level too for the benefit of all sporting stakeholders, opening up new opportunities for our Members, their affiliated National Federations, the National Olympic Committees and Government Ministries.
